#blessings
Dear Family and Friends, This week has been wonderful! Also, I am 100% feeling better :) So that is good! Also, this week is transfers and I could be leaving...or sister Lowder could...or neither of us could. I am done training now so anything could happen. But we won't find out till later tonight so....yeah! I will have to update you all next week on that :) Just don't send any mail this week....or you can, I just won't get it for awhile if I do leave. Last Monday we didn't end up going to the castle (long story) but we did have lots of fun! We hung out with Annie, a recent convert from Cardiff central who is the SWEETEST thing, and just wandered town and enjoyed the city. It was so lovely. We then went to meet Paul, our miracle investigator and he wasn't well so we weren't able to see him....so we finished our weekly planning and prepared to exchange back on Tuesday! (I was still with sister Crowley and sister Lowder was still in Merthyr.) On Tuesday we exchanged back!! I am now with my dear companion Sister Lowder again :) I updated her on the area and we visited Deb, helped Deb with her personal progress and then had dinner with her. We then went to the church for a piano practice, as I am playing for a musical number for something (more on that next week!) Wednesday we taught Paul!! Deb came and joined us, and it was such a good lesson!! He has such a sincere desire to follow Christ. It was amazing :) and Deb loved it as well I think. Missionary work is just the best! I can't think of anything else I would want to be doing at this point in my life. I love my mission ️ we also had ward coordination and saw Vicki! I LOVE the recent converts in our ward here, they are AMAZING! If everyone in the world had testimonies as strong as them....wow. Thursday we had a lovely lovely district meeting, and did some service after for the poppy appeal here. The church has volunteers to help the British legion and we got to go for a couple hours to help out! Service is so fun, and it was amazing to hear the stories from some of the people who bought poppies. I also met a Canadian lady! 🇨🇦 People here can tell the difference between Canadian and American accents REALLY well. It's kinda crazy. I always thought I just sounded American but I guess not. They will be like "hey. Are you from Canada? You sound like it." Whereas Sister Lowder just gets asked where in America she is from. So that is a fun fact about British people. They KNOW the difference. Also, Thursday was bonfire night but it was pouring rain, so we just had a lovely dinner at the Holcombes...and didn't get wet :) So Friday it was pouring rain as well and we were biking all day in it pretty much. We were SOAKED. But it was worth it. We went and taught John, and...he just knows the church is true. But he is a stubborn 90 year old man...bless him. It was an excellent lesson though. The spirit was so strong! We then visited another couple investigators, one of whom is VERY ill so we weren't able to see her :/ and then went to Rosemary's and had family home evening with her, Deb, and the girls who live beside Deb. Rosemary has been working on personal progress and so this was her way to finished off her goals for faith! She loved it and did SO good as well. Saturday there was a baptism at the church! Paul was supposed to come watch, but he still wasn't well. So we ended up not being able to stay for it, but ran into our friend Lisa as we were walking home! And we have an appointment to see her today now :) #blessings we then travelled to Fairwater to visit someone the Elders told us to stop by...as it turns out, they gave us the wrong house number and we ended up visiting a former investigator named Lynn! She let us right in....so that was a miracle! Of all the houses, that wrong number led us to her. We then celebrated bonfire night at the Parry's house for dinner and watched a LOT of fireworks go off. People here have the best firework shows in their backyard. I love it. Sunday we had church, did some weekly planning, and then had dinner at the Riders (who are amazing) and then helped Sister Rider drop something off at the Gros. They are the cutest little French and Welsh family. The CUTEST.
I love you all so very much! I will update you on what happens with transfers when I can :)
My challenge for this week, is to watch the Mormon message Earthly Father, Heavenly Father.
found here I think. Just think about how God really is our father. He knows what we need to do to progress and grow, and how he can help us do that. Maybe share the video on facebook with some thoughts, and just share the joy that knowing God cares about us brings :) That is my thought!
